My son Rudrakksh amazes us everyday with his words and actions! This journal captures those beautiful moments.
Feb 2026 (he’s two years old)

Our neighbour toddler came home and I’m glad Rudrakksh didn’t snatch any of his toys from her. She happily stayed at our home for 30 mins exploring 3-4 toys. He kept saying “Diya paapa” :)

Took Rudrakksh to park. Just watching him play swing and slide gives me joy. Also, I make sure he gives space for other children to play first, without being cranky. I believe patience and kindness needs to taught since childhood :)

Everyday he plays with water in morning with 3 coffee mugs, one strainer and dry/fallen leaves in the balcony. He plays solo, silently, with full concentration for about 15 mins. I enjoy watching his calm, self-invented play :)

Today, Praveen & I were doing a heated argument which made Rudrakksh cry. 2 hours later, I said sorry to Rudrakksh & asked him “if he felt bad?”
He said “yes”
I was shocked and thought he’s simply saying yes.
I asked him “did you feel happy?”
He didn’t answer.
Then I asked: Did you feel sad or happy?
He replied “I felt sad”
I said sorry again..
His words, his reactions truly amazes me everyday :)

I was giving bath to my son. I was sad over something because of which I was crying. Initially he thought I’m doing a prank and he was laughing. But when he realised I was really crying — He also immediately started crying loudly and said “Let’s go out”…
He stopped crying only after I stopped crying and sang a song for him, proving that I was okay. I’m truly amazed by response of a 2-year old human. :)

When there was a loud argument in the house, he starts crying and he said “Amma, let’s go to terrace” :)

When we said “Fruit is cold,” let’s eat later. Rudrakksh said, “Jiji ge haakana” (put it in water to normalise the temperature).
It reminded me how children don’t complain; they instinctively look for solutions.
Adults, we overthink. Children simply adapt. :)
