Here’s a list of personal lessons aimed at saving others time, pain, and potentially their lives.
1. Dehydration and Fitness: The Hidden Danger of Lactic Acid
Gymming without proper hydration can cause a sudden spike in lactic acid, leading to severe muscle fatigue, cramping.
My Experience:
My husband was taken to Emergency care! Lactic acid levels should be <0.8. But without water, his levels had reached 6.2. Resulting in numbness, shortness of breath and irregular heartbeat.
• The Golden Rule: Drink at least 500 ml of water 30 minutes before your workout, and SIP (not gulp) 250 mL water every 15 mins while exercising.
